Jordan Vineyard & Winery begins the first full season of our new Estate Tour & Tasting experience today. Guests will journey to remote corners of the nearly 1,200-acre Jordan Estate to enjoy a farm-to-table, wine-and-food-tasting excursion with a backdrop of stunning vistas. Reservation requests are now being accepted at jordanwinery.com/visit for tours hosted Thursday through Monday until November 10, 2014.
After a soft launch last fall, the Estate Tour & Tasting kicks off its first official season this spring with several new surprises in the gardens and vineyards. Each guided tour hosts up to 12 guests for three hours of exploring wine, food, and nature by car and by foot. This moveable feast includes freshly picked produce in the garden, Chardonnay pairings at Jordan Lake and a seated Cabernet Sauvignon pairing on Jordan’s highest hilltop with 360-degree views of three wine valleys. Jordan Executive Chef Todd Knoll draws inspiration from the seasonal bounty of Jordan’s gardens and local farms to create hors d’oeuvres to complement Jordan wines and its extra virgin olive oil. Jordan Estate is one of the few privately owned properties in Northern California wine country with more than 1,000 acres of contiguous land that is navigable by vehicle and available to be explored by consumers. More than three-quarters of the estate is dedicated to natural habitat—an oasis where craggy oak trees surround the vineyards, herons and geese swim the lakes, and rabbits and deer roam the rolling hills that define Sonoma County’s southern Alexander Valley. The property includes 110 acres of grapevines, 18 acres of olives trees, gardens, lakes, pastures and endless woods. Under the direction of second-generation vintner John Jordan, Jordan Vineyard & Winery has evolved into a working ranch with chickens for eggs, cattle for beef, bees for honey and even a cutting garden for floral arrangements.
Jordan’s Estate Tour & Tasting will be offered by appointment Thursdays through Mondays, mid-April through mid-November. The price is $120 per person or 7,500 Jordan Estate Rewards points for two people. Reservation requests are now being accepted at jordanwinery.com/visit.
