Cellar Intern (Harvest)

Jordan Vineyard & Winery is looking for an intern for the 2024 Harvest!  We are looking for self-motivated candidates looking to expand their knowledge and help craft our wines.

Since 1976, the Jordan family has been heralded for its elegant wines, culinary excellence, and gracious hospitality. Jordan Vineyard & Winery lies tucked into the hills of Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, where the iconic Jordan chateau, inspired by the great estates of France, overlooks 1,100 acres of rolling hills and vineyards with three quarters of the land dedicated to natural habitat. Today second-generation vintner John Jordan continues to build upon the legacy of his parents, preserving the timeless winemaking qualities of balance, finesse, and food affinity.

Jordan Winery hand crafts two wines; A Russian River Appellation Burgundian style Chardonnay and an Alexander Valley Appellation Bordeaux style Cabernet Sauvignon blend.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to: Grape sorting, pump operation (must pump and juice pumps), pump overs, shoveling pomace from tanks, tank additions, following work orders, cellar cleaning and sanitation (tanks, presses, etc.), and assist with lab operations (Brix checks, pH, TA, etc.) as needed.

Education and/or Experience

  • Previous cellar experience not required but strongly encouraged.

  • Must be able to work well in a team environment
  • Able to follow directions and pay attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and positive attitude
  • Able to work long hours (12+/day) and 6 days a week if needed
  • Flexible schedule (early hours during Chardonnay harvest)
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Interns will receive all necessary equipment to carry out their tasks.  Clothing provided (shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, rubber boots) along with meals during harvest.  Housing not provided but we can help arrange housing if needed.

Start date for the position will be August 20th. The internship will continue through the end of October, with the official end date depending on the harvest season.
